I. Degree Education
Students for degree education programs may apply at our School, which is responsible for the registration and administration of international students, while the instruction and research will be carried out by relevant Schools and Departments. Duration of study: 3 years for doctoral degree, 2 years for master's degree and 4 years for bachelor's degree, subject to extension up to a maximum of 2 years under special circumstances. Students who have earned all the required credits ahead of schedule set forth by the School and Departments and have defended their theses and/or dissertations successfully will be awarded relevant Diploma or Certificate of Graduation.
1. Doctoral Degree Candidates
(1) Requirements for Admission: a master's degree, level 8 or above on the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) and consent from the academic advisor.
(2) Specialties and Orientations: all the doctoral specialties offered by Shaanxi Normal University .
(3) Curriculum Provision: to be specified by relevant Schools or Departments and the academic advisors.
(4) Enrollment Time: the same as in the relevant Schools or Departments.
(5) Tuitions and Fees: RMB 22140 per school year for tuition and RMB 820 for registration.
2. Master's Degree Candidates
(1) Requirements for Admission: a bachelor's degree, level 6 or above on the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test).
(2) Specialties and Orientations: all the master's degree specialties offered by Shaanxi Normal University .
(3) Curriculum Provision: to be specified by relevant Schools or Departments and the academic advisors.
(4) Enrollment Time: the same as in the relevant Schools or Departments.
(5) Tuitions and Fees: RMB18040 per school year for tuition and RMB 820 for registration.
3. Undergraduate Students
(1) Requirements for Admission: a high school diploma, level 3 or above on the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test). (Those who are not qualified in Chinese proficiency may first attend the long-term Chinese language training course for foreign students offered by our School for one semester, then they may be transferred to the bachelor's degree course after meeting the Chinese proficiency qualification.)
(2) Specialties and Orientations: all the bachelor's degree specialties offered by Shaanxi Normal University .
(3) Curriculum Provision: to be specified by relevant Schools or Departments.
(4) Enrollment Time: the same as in the relevant Schools or Departments.
(5) Tuitions and Fees: RMB 13780 per school year for tuition and RMB 820 for registration.
4. Foreign Undergraduate Students majoring in Chinese Language and Culture:
(1) Requirements for Admission: a high school diploma, level 3 or above on the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test). (Those who are not qualified in Chinese proficiency may first attend the long-term Chinese language training course for foreign students offered by our School for one semester, then they may be transferred to the bachelor's degree course after meeting the Chinese proficiency qualification.)
(2) Specialties and Orientations: Chinese Language and Culture
(3) Curriculum Provision: Students can obtain Certificate of Graduation or Diploma after earning 160 credits and passing the examinations.
(4) Enrollment Time: students are enrolled twice a year, each spring on 1, March and each autumn on 1, September.
(5) Tuitions and Fees: RMB 13780 per school year for tuition and RMB 820 for registration.
II. Non-Degree Education
1. Long-term Chinese Language Training Course
(1) Full-time Course: It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. Students may choose to enroll in level 1 to 6 courses according to their own Chinese proficiency. Transcript and Certificate of Completion will be issued upon completion of the course.
1) Enrollment Time: 1, March for spring semester; 1, Sept. for autumn semester
2) Tuitions and Fees: RMB 12140 one school year for tuition, RMB 820 for registration; or RMB 6730 one semester for tuition, RMB 660 for registration.
(2) Night and Weekend Course: It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. Classes are given at night or during weekends. The curricula are programmed either the same as the full-time course or readjusted according to the specific needs and requirements of students. The schedule of classes is set according to the students' needs and requirements and the tuitions vary according to the hours of study.
(3) One-on-one Course (Private Individual Lessons): It starts every spring and autumn, with the minimum study period set as one semester. The instruction is tailored to suit each individual student's unique conditions and requirements in terms of the length, type and schedule of instruction and textbooks used. The tuition for one-on-one course is RMB 70/hour.
2. Short-term Chinese Language Training Course:
(1) Regular Short-term Course: The duration varies from 1 week to 12 weeks, and admission is available at any time but only for group students of 5 or more.
(2) Summer Course: Admission time is from mid-May to early August and duration of study is from 1 week to 12 weeks but only for group students of 5 or more.
(3) Winter Course: Admission time is on early January and duration of study is from 1 week to 4 weeks but only for group students of 5 or more.
(4) Chinese Language Training, Cultural Learning and Sightseeing Course:
This is a course designed for groups which starts any time in a year when there are ten or more applicants. The duration of study and sightseeing itinerary will be arranged according to the specific needs and requirements of students.
(5) Night and Weekend Course: Only for group students of 5 or more. The duration of study is 4 to 12 weeks, with class schedule and courses arranged according to the students' needs and requirements and the tuitions varying in proportion to the length of study.
(6) One-to-one Course (Private Individual Lessons): The instruction is tailored to suit each individual student's unique conditions and requirements in terms of the length, type and schedule of instruction and textbooks used. The tuition for one-on-one course is RMB 70/hour.
