Jiangxi Normal University is a provincial comprehensive key university granted the priority of development by Jiangxi Provincial Government. It has three campuses of Yaohu, Qingshanhu and Qingyunpu. At present, Jxnu has been constitued of 20 undergraduate colleges offering courses in philosophy, Economics, Law, Pedagogy, Literature, History, Natural Science, Technical Science and Management. It can confer 4 doctor��s degrees and 89 Master��s degrees. It also has 3 special Master Authorizations. In addition, it boasts 52 undergraduate majors.
The university has the permanent staff of more than 2600, of which 1300 are full-time teachers. Presently, over 45% teachers have been employed to senior professional posts, and over 50% have been granted Doctor��s and Master��s degrees. There are 3 expert teachers who have made outstanding contribution to the country, 37 teachers who have been given special allowence by the state council or the Province Government, and 4 staff members who are entited as the State model teacher, or the excellent teacher, or the model worker. In addition, it has employed 10 academicians such as Wang Zikun and Yang shuzi and many noted scholars as part-time professors.
The university has enrolled over 20,000 students, of which almost 18,000 are undergraduates, more than 1100 are postgraduates, and over 5,000 are other students receiving further education. Cultivation is the foundation of a school and quality is the artery, and, therefore, JXNU has placed more and more emphases on teaching quality and teaching inovation. Now, it quality of cultivation has been continuously improved, and the employment ratio of it graduates has ranked the first in the whole province all the time.
The university has established cooperative relationships with a dozen universities in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, New Zealand, Korea, Russia, Japan and so on. Consequently, it has enrolled the foreign students from Japan, Australia, Korea, USA, Indonesia and Thailand, and those from Hong Kong Special Administration Region and Taiwan Region.
