Information for International Students
  1. Courses:
    1. Chinese Language
    2. Chinese Culture and Literature
    3. Group program:
      1. Summer Camp: intensive training in Chinese language
      2. Cultural experience: visits to places of historic interests and getting more acquainted with Chinese culture and history.
      3. Short-term training of Chinese language for 1-3 months.
      4. Special training according to the requirements.
  2. Categories of students and qualifications.
    1. Short-term students: 18-55 years old, healthy;
    2. Ordinary trainee: 18-55 years old, healthy;
    3. Undergraduates students: senior middle school graduates and above, with the Certification and Academic Transcript plus HSK score. For the applicants without HSK scores, they are required to attend the preparatory courses first; healthy
  3. Application and Admission
    1. Applicants can download the "Application Form for International Students" at http://202.195.112.8/waishib/Entrance%20Application%20Form%20for%20International%20Students.doc  The applicants fill in the forms and send them back to the Foreign Affairs Office via mail or email. The original ones can be handed in when they are registered on campus. And a copy of passport should be sent together with the form.
    2. After verification, the office informs the applicants of their acceptance. For those students who need Visa X, the office sends the applicants "Admission Notice and China Visa Application Form (briefly called [ JW202 Form] ) "after receiving the application fee of US$ 25, which can be switched as registration fee upon the applicant's arrival.
    3. For the Short-term students for the course of Chinese Language or Chinese Culture and Literature, the office can provide necessary materials for them to apply for Visa F.
    Note: Applications are accepted from March through June for the first semester, which begins in early September. Applications for the second semester, which begins in late February, are accepted from last September through the January of the following year. Short-term students are welcome at any time of the year,
  4. Expenses
    1. Tuition fee ( in US dollars).
      1. Short-term student: $ 65 per week or negotiable
        Ordinary trainee: $ 1300 per year
        Undergraduate students: $ 1400 per year
        Individual class: $1800 per year
        Group program: negotiable
      2. Registration fee / Application fee: $ 25
      3. Books and reference materials: $ 20—40 per year
      4. Withdrawal and Refunds:
        • The charges for withdrawal within the first two weeks after the registration shall be 20 % of the full tuition.
        • The charges for withdrawal after the first two weeks shall be full tuition.
        • The registration fee or application fee of US$ 25 is non-refundable in the case of a student withdrawing an application after being accepted.
    2. Accommodation:
      1. Apartment, with two rooms with air conditioners, living-room with a TV set and a telephone set, bathroom with a water-heater and washing-machine, kitchen with a refrigerator and necessary cooking utensils, free internet access and water, is $75 per month. Students should pay for their expenses for electricity, phone calls and gas if cooking. The apartment and the expenses can be shared by two or even three students.
      2. Hotel room with a bathroom, equipped with television, telephone, air-conditioner, free Internet access, water and electricity, $ 14 per day. Two students can share the room and the expenses, but they should pay their phone bills
      3. Plain students dorm, equipped with two beds, bookshelves, desks, an air conditioner and a telephone set, a washing room with a shower and a toilet room, free water, $250 per semester. The room and the electricity expense can be shared by two students.
    3. Meals. Although Huai'an is located in the economically developed Jiangsu province, meal expenses in Huai'an are not high. The daily cost is about ¥15 RMB or $ 2 dollars in the students cafeteria according to the Chinese average expenses.
    4. Medical Care: International students are responsible for their own medical expenses.
