About Kunming


����Kunming is a beautiful city on a vast plateau known as the "perpetual spring city" in China. It was listed in the first group of cities of historic and cultural significance approved by Chinese State Council. At an elevation of 1,891 meters, it has plenty of sunlight, and the annual average temperature is 15 �� C. It suffers from neither extreme hot in summer nor extreme cold in winter.

����Thousands of years of vicissitudes have left Kunming with a large number of cultural relics and ancient buildings. The East and West Pagodas, first built in the Tang Dynasty, are still standing in Shuling and Dongsi streets in the city. The Jingang(or Vajra)Pagoda in Guandu district,Kunming,dates from the  Ming  Dynasty (1368-1644) and  contains the oldest Buddha's temple guardians  in China. The Heilongtan, or Black Dragon Pool, is famous for its temples of the Han Dynasty, plums of the Tang Dynasty, cypress of the Song Dynasty and a camellia tree of the Ming Dynasty. The Qiongzhu Temple has the world-famous five hundred arhats. The Golden Temple made of bronze, the Green Lake, which is home of thousands of seagulls from Siberia in winter, the Buddhist's Yuantong Temple and the ancient temples and forests in the Western Hills, all these make visitors want to stay longer.
