The most suitable season for travel ---spring is coming. And maybe you still feel uncertain about where to go. Don't worry, I will recommend you a good place to enjoy the beautiful sight of the Yangtze River Delta ----Xitang.

Xitang is located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, between Shanghai and Hangzhou, so the transportation is very convenient, you can take high-speed rail there and even drive by yourself. The parking lot there is very large. Therefore, you don't need to worry about parking problem.

Xitang is an old town famous for fresh and elegant styles and distinctive featrues. Small as it is in size, this ancient town boasts a long history. It was in the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-476BC) that it was first built at the border between the states of Wu and Yue. But its presnet layout has been taken place before the Song Dynasty (960-1279), with the famous Wangxian Bridge being a legacy of the Song.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xitang was a well-known trade center for farm products, silks and ceramics, produced in the surroungding areas ----Jiangnan (Yangtze River Delta), also called a land of milk and honey.

The most ubiquitous thing in Xitang is Water. The residents there built their houses by the water. Every house is located facing the river, so as the shops. Weeping willows and colorful flowers grow along the riverbanks, and flocks of water birds and white geese play on the water dotted with plants of floating heart. So when walking around Xitang, you are walking alongside the water and you will feel the charm of the beautiful sight of riverside. 

The shops along the riverside are all full of classical taste. There are bars, book stores and gift shops. But all of them are different from shops on bustling city. They are built with serenity and seclusion, which can calm you down and give you a peaceful mind. The whole town is permeated with an atmosphere of serenity that cannot be found in the bustling city. People there enjoy a slow pace of life. Living there can of course purify one's mind.
