University Profile
East China Normal University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, the national "211 Project", "985 Project" focused on the construction of colleges and universities.
School was founded in October 16, 1951, a large Summer University, Guanghua College of Science, based on the text, at the same time transferred to Fudan University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, St. John's University and other institutions part of the department, in the summer of the site of the University founded the first socialist new China Normal University. Campus Life
There are four international student dorms on Zhongshan Rd. Campus: International Exchange Service Center, No.1 International Student Residence Hall, No.2 International Student Residence Hall, No.12 Student Residence Hall.
International Exchange Service Center (Campus Map #25)
Students who live in the International Exchange Service Center must sign a “Rental-Least Agreement” and pay a deposit money of RMB1000 (full scholarship students pay a deposit money of RMB500). Students should pay the accommodation fee of a whole semester for checking in and won’t get refund if they check out before semester ends. Students may apply for an extension and pay the accommodation fee beforehand

Scholarship
1.Application and Enrollment
The application period for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program is January to April 2009. Applicants shall consult the dispatching organizations in their home countries concerning details covering the application period and important procedures.
As for Chinese Government Special Scholarship Scheme-University Postgraduate Study Program and Degree Study in Provinces and Autonomous Regions Program, applicants shall consult Chinese universities undertaking the programs about detailed information.
2.Scholarship Application
- Applicants should meet the basic qualifications prescribed in the Application Procedures, and fill in the application forms strictly in accordance with requirements. They also need to provide relevant application materials including notarized photocopies of diplomas, transcripts, the applicant’s study plan, a valid health certificate and recommendation letters.
- Application materials for scholarships shall reach CSC before the deadline as specified in Application Procedures via enrollment-undertaking organizations. Application materials received after the deadline will not be processed. (Please check the attached Application Procedures for details.)
- Application materials will not be returned regardless of the result of application.
- Important documents such as original diplomas and Foreigner Physical Examination Form must be properly kept by the applicants themselves.
