General Information About Xi’an City

      Xi'an , or Chang'an as it was called in ancient times, was one of the most important cradles of Chinese civilization. It marked the start of the famous "Silk Road" that linked China with central Asia and the Roman Empire. It served as the first capital of a unified China and capital of 11 dynasties periodically from the 11th century B.C. to the early 10th century A.D.
      Through more than 50 years of development, Xi’an has constructed a multiple–industry   system dominated by the following industries such as aviation, aerospace, electronics, machinery, textile, and electric power. In recent years, Xi'an High-tech Industry Development Zone, covering a 35-sq km area and built up with technological advantages, has greatly strengthened the power for transformation of technological achievements and the economic development of Xi’an city. To talk about the comprehensive scientific and technological power, Xi’an maintains the third place right after Beijing and Shanghai of the big cities of China.
