Liaoyang City where the college is located is in the middle of Liaoning Province near the mountains in the east of Liaoning and faces Liaohe Plain in the west, Taizi River flows through its eastern suburb and turns to the north and then flows into Bohai Sea along southwest direction. It is 70km away from Shenyang in the north and has Shenyang-Dalian Railway and Shenyang-Dalian Express Highway extending within it from south to north, and Liaoyang-Benxi Railway and Liaoyang-Benxi Express Highway running through it from east to west, adjacent to Steel City — Anshan in the south, near capital of Liaoning — Shenyang in the north, close to City of Coal and Iron — Benxi in the east and neighboring on Liaohe Oilfield in the west. It is 300 km away from Dalian Port , 160 km away from Yingkou Port and 60 km from Taoxian International Airport .

The advantageous geographical position and important strategic value determined its irreplaceable central position in ancient northeastern area. In late Warring States Period in early 3 rd century BC, Yan State expanded its territory in south of northeast area and set up Liaodong Shire to administrating Xiangping (Liaoyang today). In Qin state, Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms Period, northeastern area was further developed and Xiangping made significant contribution to promoting the spread of Chinese culture as the local capital.

In respect of tourism resource, here are the fresco grave cluster on Han-Wei Dynasties that is 500 years earlier than Dunhuang Frescoes, 70.4-meter-high White Tower — one of the six famous ancient towers of China, the Buddhism sanctuary — Guangyou Temple that was built in Han Dynasty and destroyed in late Qing Dynasty and rebuilt to see today's flourishing age, which has the world highest (21.48 meters high in all) and biggest camphor gold-plating Sakyamuni seated Buddha, as well as Gongchangling Ski Resort which is one of the biggest in suburbs of China and covers 100 ha . The trace element contents in the water of Tanghe Hot Spring in Liaoyang are the highest in the world. As the hometown of Cao Xueqin — the writer of Dream of the Red Chamber, which is one of the four most famous novels of ancient China, and Wang Erlie — a wizard of ancient China, the ancient city Liaoyang has strong cultural trait.
