About the university

Henan University of Urban Construction (HUUC) is the only provincial level university in Henan Province specializing in engineering and characterized by urban construction. HUUC, one of the only two universities in China named with “urban construction”, has constructed a mutually supportive, coordinately developing disciplinary system. Founded in 1983, HUUC can be traced back to Henan Urban Construction College. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it became Henan University of Urban Construction.

The university has 16 faculties, including the School of Civil Engineering and Communication and Transportation Engineering, the School of Management Engineering, the School of Municipal and Environment Engineering, the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, the School of Energy and Building Environment Engineering, the School of Survey Engineering, the School of Art Design, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, the School of Chemistry and Material Engineering, the School of Life Science and Engineering, the School of Mathematics & Physics, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Law, the School of International Education, the School of Continuing Education. The university currently offers 53 undergraduate programs and 7 junior college education programs across eight discipline areas: engineering; science; agriculture; management; economics; law; literature; art and design. The university has over 20,000 full time students from across China's many provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Since its establishment, HUUC has cultivated more than 70 thousand professional talents in various occupations.

HUUC advocates an open mind in running a university, and jointly trains postgraduates with Zhengzhou University, Henan Polytechnic University, Henan Science and Technology University and other colleges and universities of China; besides, HUUC develops cooperation in teaching and research with famous universities of U.S., UK, Germany, Russia, Australia and Malaysia. Since 2011, HUUC has received official approval to deliver articulated programs of undergraduate study with the University of Highlands and Islands (UK), St. Petersburg National Architecture Engineering University (Russia), Linton University (Malaysia). So far 1216 students have been enrolled in theses programs.

Aiming to build a high level urban construction university with distinctive characteristics and outstanding advantages, HUUC strives hard and contributes a lot to the development of local economy and construction industry. HUUC is highly approved by the government and the society and has won a wide range of political and social awards and many honorable titles.
