Introduction

This institute is located in the historic city of Jiaxing in the northeast of Zhejiang Province. It is a full-time vocational and technical institute of higher learning, approved by People's Government of Zhejiang Province and jointly founded by SJTU Education Group and Jiaxing Educational Development and Investment Company.

At present, there are nearly 8,000 full-time students (more than 100 international students), and more than 350 faculty members, 72% of whom have master's degree or above degree, and 80% have "double teacher" quality. There are seven teaching units, including shipping and construction branch, electromechanical and transportation branch, economy and management branch, design and information branch, international education branch, continuing education branch and basic education department; there are (construction, shipping, machinery, electronics, information, business administration, mobile commerce, art and design) 8 major groups and 28 majors. Among them, there are 2 provincial-level dominant majors, 5 provincial-level characteristic majors, 6 university-level key majors and 4 university-level supporting majors. It has 8 training bases(such as ship and construction engineering, multimedia technology innovation and entrepreneurship, and Sino-Germany intelligent manufacturing platform), 19 training centers and 134 training rooms. In the past three years, it has obtained 114 scientific research projects at the provincial and bureau levels, published more than 330 papers, and signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 200 enterprises. The average employment rate of graduates over the years has reached over 97%.

In recent years, the school has been constantly improving its level of international education. It has established inter-school cooperation with more than 10 countries and regions (more than 20 institutions) including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and so on. It already has successively established friendly and long-term cooperation relationship with such international universities as State University of New York, USA Robert Morris University, USA International Technological University, Canada Cambrian College, Korea Maritime University, New Zealand Eastern Institute of Technology, and so on. The major in Marine Engineering Technology has become the first Chinese-foreign cooperation project approved in Jiaxing.
