From 25th, May to 27th, the First International Conference on Maritime Policy, Technology and Education (2016 ICMPTE) was held at SMU, which attracted more than 50 specialists and scholars majoring in maritime fields from China, UK, Singapore, South Africa and etc. Present in the conference were Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council and Honorary Chair of International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA), Mr. Zhao minghua, Expert of China Center under Southampton Solent University, Mr. Xue Yidong, Head of Shanghai Maritime Pilots’ Association, China, etc.
