CUECC Visits to Universities in Hangzhou

Aim of the activity

As a profesional company helping foreign students to study in China, CUECC (China University and Education Consulting Center) has always been devoted to improving its service quality. To help international students have more pleasant education experiences in China, it is now carrying out an investigation into how students in China feel about thier current university life. That's why we went to ZUST & ZUT & ZJSU to visit their campuses, teaching builidings, dormitories and have a face-face talk with those students.

1、Trip in ZUS

At the end of March, we, CUECCers, carried by the soft spring wind and bathed in tender spring sunshine, first arrived at ZUST----Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. Amazed by the beautiful sight of the university, we were warmly welcomed by teachers on the Administrative Office. Then we were brought to International Dormitory by a warm-hearted students interned on the office –Shehan from Sri Lanka (Thanks to Shehan’s great help). There we had talks with several international students from different countries.

When we drew near the International Dormitory, the first thing coming into sight is a group of buildings painted in white. They looked new and neat. Stepping into the building, we were intoxicated by the idealistic pastoral style of the structure. The buildings were dotted with stretches of greedlands, surrounded by lourishing trees and connected by winding corridors, beside which several foreign boys were playing skateboard and football with vigorous smiles.

First we interviewed a Zambian boy who studied Economics and Trade in this university. He generously showed us his bedroom, which impressed us a lot. The university really provided good living condition for international students! The room was equipped with air-conditioner, bathroom, televison and even a

refrigerator! Students could even cook on their own if the food in canteen was not to their appetite. And with television and broadband, students could totally relax themselves after a busy time of study. From talking with the boy, we got to know his life and study in China and found he enjoyed his time in this university because of the comfortable accommodation conditions and friendly administration office.

Next we visited two Indonesian girls of 1st grade. They shared double rooms with other students. They spoke quite good Chinese. The two large beds gave us the most impression for it looked comfortable to sleep on them. And the room was also euipped with all necessities like air-conditioner, bathroom and so on. It was quite fair and convenient to share a room with your best friend for you could take care of each other and affod the accommodation fees together. The two girls 

also had a pleasant time in China and enjoyed studying in ZUST.

Accompanied by a special friend studying Computer Science in the university, we then carefully visited the campus and also a general view of the International 

students and their life there.

2、Trip in ZUT

    Then we left the beautiful campus and headed to ZUT---Zhejiang University of Technology also with the accompany of this special friend. The school impressed us with its broadness and exquisiteness. With the background of mountains, the university looked picturesque like a wonderland. The doomed building made itself a decoration among the square roofs. At the gate of the university, we met a pair of interesting foreign boys both studying Electrical Engineering there. One of them had been China for alsmost 3 years and could fluently speak Chinese. In his eyes, studying in China was for relaxation and a good opportunity to experience this profound culture. He strongly recommended to study in ZUT and admitted to enjoy the life there while his friend, who studied the same major with him, had some opinions and thinking on the teaching method of this university. After listening to his suggestion, we also found out some little weakness of the International Education of this university which we would reflect to the administration department and they would modify it soon.

Walking along the sidewalk for a while, we were faced with a sea of Cauliflowers that were of full blosom. Such a view under the setting sun seemed 

to be gilded and should be hung on the wall! At that time, students just had their dinner and walked freely on the broad sidewalk. We soon found two Ethiopian 

boys in the crowd due to their tall body. They kindly helped us to fill our questionaire. During talking with them, we found both of them were interested in Chinese culture and impressed by Chinese students.

The next day we also visited Zhejiang Gongshang University which is featured by economy and management teaching. And what impressed us most were nearly 

100% satisfaction remarks from students. Thus if you are planning to learn economy or management related major, this university should be your first 

choice.

Conclusion

Being with international students in their campus, we had more keen insight into their study and living situations. And based on their remarks about universities 

and international education, we would try our best to talk with universities and improve everything  to gurantee international students to enjoy study-in-China 

together.
