Admission Requirements

^a) If Chinese language skills do not meet the requirements, applicants may come to the university and study Chinese prior to enrollment. After completion of language study for a period of a half to one year and with approval of the university, qualified candidates may enter a degree program. Prior to the degree program students will be responsible for paying language fees.

^b)HSK is the HanYu ShuiPing KaoShi, an internationally recognized Chinese language proficiency test.

International Credit-Transferring Program in Architecture

I、About the Program

This program is tailor made for international students who have studied architecture in their native country. ZAFU recognizes the credits for professional courses so that international students can pursue a Chinese bachelor degree in less than four years.

II、The Model of the Program

1 year of intensive Chinese study + 1 sanwich year + 2 years of professional courses in architecture.

The sanwich year means that if student don’t reach the language requirement in the first year, they can still have one more year to sharpen their language skills.

III、Advantages

1. Credits earned in native country are recognizable at ZAFU.

2. The length of degree program is less than 4 years,so students can spend one or two years on Chinese language.

3. ZAFU have strength and specialty in architecture.

Study Tour Program

Zhejiang A & F University (ZAFU) is able to provide a Chinese culture-oriented study tour program, thanks to its ideal geographic location in the Yangtze River Delta， This program can take you to Hangzhou, the city of paradise, Shanghai, the hub of trade, finance and information, Huangshan mountain, a scenic spot well-known internationally, and many tourist spots within Zhejiang province. Participants will be enthralled by the unique knowledge and fantastic trips offered by ZAFU.

1. Distinguishing Features of the Study Tour Program

1.1 Flexible and Diversified Formats: ZAFU will design a special schedule and determine the study period according to different requests.

1.2 Rich Content: ZAFU not only provides Chinese language classes, but also offers various traditional Chinese culture classes. There are also many field trips during your stay at ZAFU.

1.3 Combination of Ecological Recreation and Metropolitan Life. Thanks to its ideal location at the crux between suburb and downtown city, ZAFU can make use of both valuable resources in Lin’an（The sitting city of ZAFU） and Hangzhou (the provincial capital) .

2. Overview of the Study Tour Program

Every study tour program includes the following activities:

2.1 Tour of Campus, ZAFU, and Lin’an City. Students will be familiarized with the campus and the host city to ensure they settle quickly.

2.2 Chinese Language Class. Chinese language classes with different levels and different formats will be arranged so that students can improve their Chinese language skills rapidly.

2.3 Chinese Cultural Class. Students will experience traditional Chinese culture, such as Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, Tai chi, Floral Arranging, Tea Serving Art, Paper-cutting etc.

2.4 Tea Ballad and Yue Opera. Students will have a chance to appreciate the Tea Ballad composed and perfomed by ZAFU students and faculty and Yue opera, a local genre of opera.

2.5 Entertainment with Chinese Students. Students will experience colorful cultural activities on a Chinese campus. At the same time students will have opportunities to display their artistic talent and their own country’s culture.

2.6 Excursions. Students can tour the famous scenic and cultural spots in and around Hangzhou metropolis in the Yangtze River Delta Region.

2.7 Long-Distance Travel. Long-distance travel such as Shanghai tour and Huangshan Mountain etc.will be provided upon request

Total price: RMB7200yuan includes fees for classes and activities, lodge and board on campus (two-student shared room)， tickets to place of interest, excursion bus fare, pick-up, send-off. Miscellaneous expenses are not included in this price.

NOTE: Any group from Institutions or Educational Agencies may choose some of the above classes, lectures, and travel according to group requirements and decide the number of hours. ZAFU will promptly determine the appropriate costs, notify the groups involved, and make necessary arrangements.
