Shanghai World Expo Organizer Urges Efforts to Ensure Expo Goes Well
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan has urged continued efforts to ensure all goes well at the Shanghai World Expo.
Speaking at the tenth meeting of the Expo organizing committee in Shanghai Tuesday, the Vice Premier, who heads the expo organizing committee, said security and good order are the two keys to a successful World Expo.
With the expo opening on May 1, preparations must be scrupulous to ensure nothing goes wrong, he added.
Yu Zhengsheng, Shanghai's Party Chief, said some problems surfaced in the six trial operations of the expo park, adding they need to be corrected in a timely manner.
He said the problems should be treated in a matter-of-fact way. He said the organizers will be upfront about the problems but not exaggerate them.
